Numbers Simplified is looking for authors and writers who are passionate about numbers with technical, mathematical, or artistic expertise and the ability to explain numeric concepts from an interesting, relevant, and engaging point of view.

We are a provider of original content on the numbers, statistics, and mathematics that excite, awe, and plague our culture. We celebrate numbers. Through art, science, politics, sports, and mathematics, our investigations, articles, and interviews bring a unique view of numbers to life for the thinking reader.

our focus:

We seek to engage, enlighten, and excite. Our style is conversational yet authoriative. Our rigor will depend on the topic at hand. Articles introducing a topic are generally conceptual and at a level comfortable and captivating for all readers. Rigor may increase in follow-on articles to include equations, proofs, code, etc. to entice our readers with stronger engineering, programming, and mathemtaical aptitudes. In all cases, we are looking for writing that will engage the reader.

In terms of puzzles, we find them interesting so long as they are associated with a fascinating story. Or alternatively, if we we are able to distill them into a Twitter Quiz to tweet over the course of weeks.

how to submit:

We consider completed articles as well as queries as follows:

• articles that are between 500 and 5500 words
• articles that open new topics or compliment and address existing topics
• articles that are stand alone or with several installments

For proposals, please include the following:

• an introduction to your article
• a detailed outline that includes each point you intend to make
• a statement as to why the article is timely and of interest to our readers
